The inevitable Truth

To all who have placed their trust in us,

Recent events surrounding both the Shaolin Temple in China and Shaolin Temple Europe have caused disappointment, confusion, and concern for many people.

For this, I offer my sincere apology.

While individuals will bear responsibility for their own actions, it is also true that leaders and institutions must face the consequences when they fail to preserve the integrity of the path entrusted to them.

Yet, it is in these times that eventually lead to the acknowledgement that the transmission of Chan / Zen / Seon is neither guaranteed nor sustained by robes, titles, traditions or reputation alone.

When wisdom, compassion and integrity are not fully embodied, the lineage loses its living spirit.

This moment calls not for denial, but for renewal.

Going forward, the commitment is clear: to place spirit and essence before status, truth before image, and practice before institution.

We will continue to cultivate a community grounded in transparency, accountability, and direct inquiry into our true nature.

The purpose of Shaolin has never been to create followers. Its purpose is to awaken human beings to what they truly are.

May these challenging times become an opportunity for everyone to awaken and return to what is essential.
